MEET THE MAIDEN-SABRINA NICOLE

Jewelry has been part of my story for as long as I can remember.

I grew up watching both of my grandmothers wear their jewelry like armor — rings that carried history, necklaces that marked milestones, pieces that felt powerful and personal. Their collections weren’t just accessories; they were stories cast in metal and stone. That’s where it started for me. That quiet fascination. That love.

As a kid, I was always beading. Playing with mismatched color experiments, hours spent obsessing over tiny details. In my teenage years and early adulthood, beading became more refined — better materials, stronger design choices, more intention. But eventually I got bored.

Not with jewelry — never with jewelry — but with the limits of stringing and beadworking. I wanted to build from scratch. I wanted to melt metal, shape it, forge it, control it. I wanted to understand jewelry at its core.

So in my mid-20s, I made a decision that changed everything: I went back to college to learn metalsmithing.

That’s where I fell in love all over again.

Learning to saw, solder, fabricate, stone set — to take raw sheet and wire and transform it into heirloom-quality pieces — unlocked something in me. It was gritty, technical, and deeply creative. It demanded patience. It demanded precision. It felt powerful.

After graduating, I built my own in-home studio piece by piece. Bench by bench. Tool by tool. And for the past 12 years, I’ve been honing my craft there — fabricating from sterling silver, setting stones, refining my voice as a maker.

Hammer Maiden Studios was born from that journey.

My work blends strength and story. It’s handcrafted, intentionally designed, and built to last — jewelry that feels bold but timeless. Pieces you can wear every day, pass down someday, and remember exactly where you were when you first put them on.

Every design carries a little bit of my history:
• The curiosity of a kid with a bead kit
• The courage of a woman going back to school
• The influence of two grandmothers who understood that jewelry is never “just jewelry”

This isn’t fast fashion. It’s slow-made, small-batch, and rooted in skill. It’s metal shaped by hand in a studio built from scratch.

And I’m still in love with it!

"I ultimately make jewelry for legacy. I make jewelry for women who want to leave behind an heirloom that will outlast time and keep value and perhaps spark the imaginations of other young girls!"

"There's something magical about metalsmithing. You take this flat piece of metal and you shape it into something beautiful that people wear. It's strange to think that I've made pieces that will last forever."

THE PROCESS

  • My designs begin with an initial concept, a theme. I then carefully curate a selection of stones and metals that compliment said theme.

  • I am looking to tell a story.

  • Then it’s cutting, assembling and adding my signature textures and patinas.

  • The initial making/theme decision is only one part of the story!
